Two longtime friends renew their rivalry traveling to some of the world’s greatest destinations in golf’s newest, edgy and often offside comedy.
Everyone has that friend, that best buddy, the one you love but hate to lose to.
Enter Dave Hemstad (Hammer) and Mark Zecchino (Zee).
Their golf rivalry goes back to junior golf days. They’ve never known anything but competing against one another. Club Championships, putting contests in the dark, long drive competitions… give them a golf club and let them go at it!
DAVE HEMSTAD (HAMMER)
Dave was an Academic All-American and NCAA Div. 1 champion in university before he was struck by lightning during a tournament. That’s right, he was struck by lightning. 20 years later he is a full-time professional comedian, a veteran of the Just for Laughs festival, actor, writer and a decorated amateur golfer who maintains a scratch handicap.
Hammer is an intimidating athlete who hates to lose more than he likes to win. A pragmatic perfectionist, he tries to paint a golf course the correct way but will chase the odd “sucker pin for the win!” The risks he takes on the course are calculated and whether he enjoys his evening or not is directly related to what happens on the course that day.
MARK ZECCHINO (ZEE)
After taking a couple of swings as a tour pro, Zee realized he talked a better game than he played. And now he does that for a living calling the shots on the big Tour and hosting Canada’s only national Tv and radio golf show.
However, don’t underestimate the competitor that he is on the course. Still leaping at it from the ground up after all these years, his unique swing and swashbuckler attitude remain intact. Throw in the best flop shot short game this side of Phil Mickelson and you know from the first tee you are never safe against the Zee.
